Elon Musk is the CEO and founder of electric vehicle (EV) car maker Tesla and private space technology major SpaceX. He is the richest men in the world, after Tesla stock zoomed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Musk's personal net worth reached more than $188.5 billion, past Amazon.com Inc.’s top boss Jeff Bezos in January, Bloomberg News reported. He has a 20 percent stake in the carmaker and about $42 billion of unrealized paper gains on vested stock options. Musk, who co-founded and sold Internet payments company PayPal Holdings Inc., now leads some of the most futuristic companies in the world. Besides Tesla, he heads SpaceX and Neuralink, a startup that is developing ultra-high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect the human brain to computers. He set up the Boring Company to make affordable tunnels below busy city streets for an all-electric public transportation system to avoid the nasty traffic jams in US cities. Another of Musk's pet ventures is Starlink. In August, Elon Musk announced SpaceX has shipped 1 lakh Starlink terminals so far. Starlink plans to deploy thousands of low-orbit satellites to provide high-speed internet to isolated and poorly connected areas. The billionaire entrepreneur is also known for his crypto endorsements. He reiterated holdings in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin, and closely watches the cryptocurrency space and tweets his observations regularly. More
